Refer afriend, family, client, partner
If this has been useful to you, it may be useful to someone you know.
Introducing someone
A referral is an introduction, not a lead form. You tell us who to expect and what they are trying to do, or you tell them to mention you - either way the connection is recorded against both of you.
- 1Either direction works
Introduce them to us, or have them mention your name when they get in touch. Nothing is lost by doing it the informal way.
- 2They are not cold-called
An introduction is not permission to market to someone. We wait for them to make contact, or we reach out once because you asked us to.
- 3You can see where it stands
Ask at any point whether an introduction you made went anywhere. You will get a straight answer.
What a referral is worth depends on what the person you introduced goes on to do, so it is recognised case by case rather than at a fixed rate. Anyone who introduces people regularly should talk to us about a partner arrangement instead - that is a different conversation with terms written down.
