Joy Can Return Without Blaming the Past

There are seasons when an easy sense of delight goes quiet. A disappointment, sustained pressure, illness, or harm may change what ordinary days feel like. It would be unfair to tell someone they simply chose that loss.

We can still notice what remains possible now. A familiar song may be pleasant again. A conversation may feel lighter than expected. A small opening does not erase what happened or require us to be cheerful on demand.

Looking back can help us understand a change, but it need not become a trial in which we decide who is to blame for every feeling. Some situations need care, protection, or material change before ease has much room. Sometimes joy returns alongside that work, not after it is all complete.

We do not have to prove that the past was harmless to welcome a good moment in the present. Letting one in is enough for that moment.
