Superstition
In this inquiry, superstition names the taken-for-granted system through which we interpret the world. It includes beliefs, social assumptions, and conclusions we may rarely stop to examine.
That system can shape what we notice about other people and ourselves before we have chosen a response. Calling it into view does not mean every belief in it is false. It gives us a chance to ask which parts are grounded, inherited, useful, or due for reconsideration.
