Creamy Extra Dark Chocolate Fondue
Creamy Extra Dark Chocolate Fondue is built from just dark chocolate and hot soy milk or cream, with mixed fruit served alongside for dipping.
The chocolate is not cooked directly. Instead, boiling soy milk is poured over chopped 70% dark chocolate and stirred until the mixture becomes smooth and glossy.
The fruit provides the texture and contrast, so the source keeps the chocolate mixture simple. Orange, strawberries, banana, cherries, and pineapple are given as examples.
Ingredients
- 1 cup 70% cocoa-mass dark chocolate, chopped or broken into pieces
- 1 cup soy milk or whipping cream
- 5–6 cups mixed fruit, such as orange segments, strawberries, sliced bananas, cherries, or sliced pineapple
Method
Place the chopped chocolate in an ovenproof bowl. Bring the soy milk or whipping cream to a boil in a medium pot over high heat, then immediately remove it from the heat and pour it over the chocolate. Stir until smooth. Arrange the fruit on a platter and serve with forks or fondue sticks for dipping. Makes 6 servings.
