A Life You Love Does Not Require Liking Every Part
A life we love is easily confused with a life arranged to preference.
The right work.
The right relationship.
The right health.
Enough money.
Enough freedom.
Preferred circumstances matter.
They are not the whole measure.
A life can be deeply valued while containing grief, boredom, limitation, conflict, duty, illness, or uncertainty.
Loving the life does not require approving of every part of it.
Nor does it require giving up efforts to change what should change.
The distinction is between valuing the whole and liking every condition inside it.
If love of life is postponed until all conditions become preferable, life is placed permanently under review.
A different stance can hold both statements at once.
This matters to me.
And this part still needs work.
