Success Is Not Transformation

Success and transformation are different measures.

Success can mean results.

Wealth.

Popularity.

Influence.

Effectiveness.

Those things may matter and may be worth pursuing.

None of them, by itself, tells us how a person relates to life, failure, identity, relationship, or responsibility.

Transformation asks a different kind of question.

Has the way the person is participating changed?

Has a previously invisible assumption become visible?

Has the range of possible action changed?

Has the relationship to success itself changed?

A successful person can remain trapped in an old pattern.

A transformed relationship to life does not guarantee conventional success.

The two can also coexist.

The distinction matters because success is often asked to do more than produce a result.

It is asked to prove worth.

It is asked to make life finally count.

Success can be enjoyed without carrying that burden.

Success is a result.

Transformation belongs to another order of inquiry.
