Miso Dressing

Miso Dressing begins with a thick miso paste, so hot water is essential for loosening the mixture enough to become a pourable dressing.

Honey and rice vinegar create the sweet-sour balance, while tamari or Bragg seasoning reinforces the savory side. Only a small amount of sesame oil is needed for aroma.

Stir rather than shake this dressing until the miso is fully smooth. The finished sauce works well over wilted spinach or steamed vegetables, as suggested by the source.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup miso paste
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 2 tablespoons Bragg all-purpose seasoning, tamari, or soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil

Method

Combine the miso paste, honey, rice vinegar, hot water, Bragg seasoning or tamari, and sesame oil in a bowl. Stir continuously until the miso is fully dissolved and the dressing is smooth and uniform. Makes about 1 cup.
