There is another way to approach excellence: as the quality of participation we can bring to what is in front of us. It may appear in careful craft, an honest correction, or the attention we give someone whose work will never be publicly judged.
This does not mean every result is equal. Skills differ, standards matter, and some work needs improvement. We can make those distinctions without building a hierarchy of human value from them.
