Break Large Work Until the Next Move Is Visible

A large project can feel impossible while every individual move inside it is manageable.

Overwhelm often belongs to the scale at which we are looking.

Finish the project is not one action.

Neither is write the report, move house, prepare the application, or learn the subject.

Each contains smaller actions competing for attention at once.

The practical move is decomposition.

Break the work into smaller pieces.

Break the available time into smaller pieces.

Then connect one piece of work with one piece of time.

The goal is not to create a perfect plan.

It is to reduce the scale until the next move becomes visible.

Large work still remains large.

But it no longer has to be performed all at once in the mind.

Once the next move is concrete, action can begin.

Then the project becomes a sequence rather than a wall.
